The Region – Swinoujscie

Swinoujscie is a bustling seaside town situated on the picturesque south coast of the Baltic Sea.

The resort boasts the highest average temperatures of all the Polish coastal towns.

The town has 40,000 inhabitants and is visited by many thousands of visitors every year from all across Europe, particularly Germany, Scandinavia and of course Poland itself.

Indeed, the area is historically famous as a pre-war luxury health resort for Poland’s wealthy classes, sepia images of which still line the promenade.

Swinoujscie has the widest beach in Poland; the country’s finest and safest, with the coast sloping gently into the sea. The waterfront is lined with a pedestrian promenade with rows of the areas most prestigious hotels. In the summer months the area bursts with vibrant music and cultural events, and there are also numerous shops, markets and restaurants open all year round.

Swinoujscie offers much more than a wonderful beach, with salt springs and therapeutic mud spas for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The town’s spa district has a strong reputation for effective treatments of conditions such as asthma and back pain.

There are many nature reserves in the area, perfect for meandering through semi-wild woodlands and rustic city parks.

The area is particularly popular with bird-watchers.
